In Vegas with my American Flyers castmates!

I had a wonderful time seeing my castmates from American Flyers, Rae Dawn Chong and Luca Bercovici, last night in Las Vegas at the Interbike Awards Gala. The movie was being honoured as an iconic film within the bicycling world, and it was fun to see how important the movie has been to cycling enthusiasts from all over the world.  Luca flew in from Hungary – I had not seen him since I ran into him at an audition 20 years ago.  I saw Rae Dawn (who will be a grandmother in 2 weeks!) last year at an autograph signing, but it was great to catch up with her.  She was hiliarous on stage – who knew she was such a comedienne?  An added bonus was the very funny MC and comedian, Alonzo Bodden, whom I adore on the NPR show Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.  I was jazzed to meet him!

    Hello again Miss Alexandra. It was a heart-warming smile to meet you at “Chiller Theater” in Parsippany, New Jersey last weekend… the main reason being was learning just how friendly, genuine (and all that great stuff) you are. There are so many stories, and sadly I have had a few such times, where a person you thought you/we would be so happy to meet turned-out to be… not so groovy.
    – And you remembered my name seeing me the next day! That does not sound like much of a big deal to most, but after meeting a few Hundred people (at least) that day… that is surely saying something.
    – It was a little more than fun reminiscing about “American Flyers” with you. Thank you so much for telling me so many facts and fun things about one of my favorite movies. I am sure you have talked about such things 5,000 times with people – great to see you could do 5,001 with “the illusion of 1st time” as is said in film terms – not that I thought for 1 second that you were acting – you were clearly genuine. 🙂
    – It was so nice of you to text my friends, complimenting them on their photo (them wearing 2 American Flyers cycling jersey’s (“Hell of the West” race leader/red, and the blue “Shaver Sport”). They announced the text on facebook like a trophy. 🙂
    – Sadly the “Res Firma…” photograph that you signed to them… I left it there on your table and walked away in a wonderful daze (do you always have this affect on nerdy guys?) 🙂 I went back when I realized it was not in my possession – this was just after you left- but sadly everything was gone. Well, at least I shot a photo of you holding it. 🙂
    – Thank you again for doing your part with “Who killed the Electric Car?” documentary film / doing your part fighting for the “EV-1”.
    – I hope to chat with you again some day. Be well, be safe. – Eric the Red … http://imgbox.com/tyrs8wbE

      Please send me a self addressed stamped envelope to PO Box 1544 Pacific Palisades CA 90272-1544 and I will send you another photo. Make sure to put your name on the envelope as I don’t sign autographs through the mail anymore so usually send them back. In fact, put a little note on the outside back of the envelope reminding me I said I would send you a photo. Just a small sentence;
