Ask Alexandra – June 2013

1) I have been a fan of yours for years…from Baywatch, to your movies, to your activism. I even took your lead and bought a Chevy Volt a month ago! I can’t imagine ever driving a gasoline powered car again. I was watching Dancing with the Stars last night with my wife and was wondering if you would ever consider gracing the show?! Andy Cunningham Hi Andy, Congratulations on your Volt! I hope you are loving it as much as Ian and I do. We have driven over 50,000 miles and are getting an average of 183 mpg in the last couple months. So glad to hear you are now an EV convert. As for Dancing with the Stars, it looks like an amazing experience for the participants, but truthfully I do not think my knees could take it. I had knee surgery several years ago, and jumping, running or hard impact hurts them both. Just doing the diving show I did last year, which was only 10 days of practice before the competition, was extremely hard on my shoulders, so I cannot imagine dancing for weeks and weeks. And in heels! Yowzah. Thank you for your email, Andy. I … Continue reading

Ask Alexandra – August 2009

Question #1: Hello, I liked watching Baywatch. Have you got other projects now (doing a sitcom for example)? And I would like to know which kind of sports you’re doing in the day, please? Do you follow a strict trainee program? Many thanks and good continuation in your career. Manuella Dear Manuella, I will be shooting an independent movie, The Frankenstein Brothers, next month, playing Daniel Stern’s alcoholic wife and Zelda Williams’ mother. As for the sports I am doing, right now I am mostly swimming, as I am training for an 11 mile ocean swim on August 13. I also stretch for an hour 2 times a week. On the days I dont swim, I go to the gym and lift weights and do an hour of cardio a day. Usually on the stairstepper, which is a killer! I am so glad you enjoy Baywatch. It has been 15 years since I have been on the show, but I am so happy people still enjoy it! Thank you for your letter! Alexandra Question #2: Hello Alexandra, First of all, i must say it’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to correspond with you !.I’d like to ask you about … Continue reading

Ask Alexandra – February 2008

Question #1: Hi Alexandra, I don’t have a question for you, I would just like to thank you for speaking out in support of Dennis Kucinich. He is a man of such integrity and so important to not just the US, but the whole world right now. His message of peace and sustainability needs to be supported and carried forward by us all. What a shame more celebrities didn’t use their influence to promote Dennis the way you have. Peace and good will, Emily Dear Emily, I was fortunate to be joined by Sean Penn (who happens to also be my favorite actor), Viggo Mortensen (no slouch himself), Frances Fisher (Oscar nominee and terrific activist), James Cromwell (also a progressive activist for many years) in supporting and promoting Kucinich. Unfortunately, the media never gave Dennis a chance: MSNBC barred him from the Nevada debate, and ABC barred him from their debate. Most news stories on the race for President didn’t mention his candidacy, and the LA Times had the gall to call him “Mr. Kucinich” in an article even though he has been a US Congressman for years and should be titled “Representative Kucinich”, especially in an article about the … Continue reading
